WTF?! The Country For Whom 13% Of Its Population Are Direct Descendants of Slavery Is Slipping Into Conservatism

There are very little—if any—words for my heartache right now. A nation which has broken its promise every year for 249 years is breaking its promise again. Every well-respecting American should be alarmed right now, for what Trump and his administration are doing is threatening to brazenly bring us into a time of which America has always lied about not being in.

It just feels like this all came out of nowhere, y’know? Where were the red flags?

I mean, yeah, it was pretty bad in the beginning, and the nation as we know it is built on and upon endlessly complex and never-ending layers upon layers of violence, evil, and dehumanization, and, yes, because I’m Black, the entire reason I’m even here right now is because multiple family members of mine were abused, stolen from where they were, suffered unimaginable horrors, forced to labor and slave for their kidnappers, and then, when that was over, underwent the attempts of the entire country to figure out a way to just do what they had already been doing to them but in a different way—sure, that’s true.

But when that was over, everything was okay! And this country has certainly not been, since the Civil Rights Act, figuring out ways, and succeeding, to do what they have always done to us but in a different way. They would never do that to me. They promised.

There’s a bitter taste in my mouth when I see Black Americans denouncing America. Don’t they know we’re responsible for so much of its culture and institutions? Don’t they know we’re the backbone on which this country stands, and dances, and jumps, and spits on? Why aren’t they proud?

This country wouldn’t have shit without all that they’ve stolen from us. We should be proud of that, because that’s totally a rational response to being exploited and robbed. If you got mugged on the street, surely you’d teach your children that they should have pride in the fact that you and your wallet have contributed so much to that robber’s status.

How dare you slander and decry that robber’s bank account? Those are your funds in there! Don’t abandon him. You are a part of him.

Teach your children, and every person who ever gets robbed by him again, that one day, they too, can help that bank account benefit the descendants and cohort of that robber.

All y’all had to do was vote for Kamala. She would’ve, with Black Girl Magic and a Howard University degree, stopped America from being the most vicious, nasty, hateful, insane nation that has ever existed in the history of the world.
